A side hung garage door (also known as hinged door) is the perfect solution for your garage. It offers a wide range of benefits including an attractive appearance, ease of use, excellent security and does not take up space inside or outside the garage.

Manual operation

A side hung garage door is not automatic. You need to open it manually.

There are a few ways you can do this:

  • ● Open with a remote control (if your model has one). This is the easiest way to get access to your garage, but it’s also the most expensive. If you have a home with an older system that doesn’t have remotes, or if you want something more affordable than having new hardware installed, we recommend purchasing an extra remote control and using that instead. Either way, these can be found online for about $50 each and take about ten minutes for installation—so if you love being able to open your garage from inside the house or office as quickly as possible, this may be worth looking into!
  • ● Use a hand crank on the inside of your garage door; all models come with one. If you don’t think about it much after opening up for the first time in months/years/decades (depending on how long it takes before opening again), this will come in handy when things start going wrong due to wear-and-tear over time—which happens more often than people realize! It also helps keep things simple when installing new accessories into existing equipment without having them interfere with each other while still being able

Materials

You can choose from a range of materials to suit your door needs. These include timber, steel and GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic). The choice of material depends on what you need to achieve.

Timber is a natural material which is renewable and recyclable and has been used for many years in wooden garage doors. The advantage of this type of door is that it provides the look, feel and sound insulation you would expect from a traditional timber door but with additional security benefits such as strength, weather resistance and durability by using high quality materials for its construction.

Steel is also available in different grades depending upon your budget requirements – from budget steel up to top-of-the line galvanised steel (for added corrosion resistance). Steel offers good strength characteristics but must be correctly installed to provide maximum security because it can easily be forced open without proper installation techniques being utilised during manufacture or installation stages at the factory or site respectively

Low maintenance & Excellent security

One of the biggest benefits of a side-hung garage door is that it requires less maintenance than other types. This means that you won’t have to worry about repainting or repairing your door, saving both time and money. They are also more secure than other types of garage door because they have a frame that makes it difficult for potential intruders to cut through or force open, keeping your possessions safe!

Side hung garage doors do not take up space inside or outside the garage

They are hinged at the top and open vertically, so they don’t need to swing outwards like a traditional garage door. This means that they can be fitted with a roller shutter door which can be opened individually if you want more access to your car, or left closed to keep the elements out.

Side hung garage doors are available in a variety of materials and colours, meaning you can choose one that complements your home perfectly. They’re also easy to use and maintain, helping you spend less time fiddling with them and more time enjoying life!

As you can see, there are many benefits to owning a side hung garage door. They offer more security than other types of garage doors, they are easy to use and they look great! The only downside is that they need to be manually opened but this is not such a big deal considering all the other advantages they offer. If you want an attractive, functional and secure garage door then investing in one today could be the best decision ever made.
